Joy with Honey officially began in 2021 when artist Ryan MacGrath (BFA, NS College of Art and Design University) decided to turn his life-long passion for decorating and creating interior spaces into a business.
“As a visual artist who has always loved playing with colour, light, texture and spacial arrangement, I finally mustered the courage a few years ago to dive into the business of helping people to reimagine their spaces. It has been incredibly rewarding to have embarked on this new journey, and to have gained happy clients while working with them to create spaces that they really enjoy!”
Ryan’s stylistic approach includes mixing vintage/antique and contemporary furnishings with a modern take on colour and placement.
What We Can Do for You
Ikea Kitchen Design and Installation
Our team has collectively designed and installed over 100 Ikea kitchens in Nova Scotia. We'll take detailed measurements of your space and discuss what you'd like to achieve in terms of layout, functionality and style. We'll work with you to finalize the design, and then set a date to create your new kitchen. We can help you source and install flooring, furnishings, appliances, tiles and lighting, too!
Decorating
Is your space a blank canvas, or has it been in need of a refresh for a long, long time? Either way, undated or outdated, we'll help you find the colours, furnishings, lighting, artwork and details that best reflect your personality, (life)style and budget. If you just need a mood board, that's okay. If you want some help shopping, that's okay too. If you'd like a new painting for your wall, we do that!
Home Renovations
You want to remove that wall between your kitchen and dining room; You've been dreaming of a new deck to entertain on; You're tired of that cramped, outdated bathroom. Our team of fully-insured contractors and sub-contractors will gladly help you bring your vision to life. But, first let's discuss some design options.
